Privacy policy
Last updated: 9 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ArkenApps handles personal data when you visit our website, contact us, purchase or license software, request support, or otherwise interact with us. Product-specific notices or customer agreements may supplement this Policy for a particular deployment or service.
1. Who we are
ArkenApps is a software enterprise registered with the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India (Udyam Registration No. UDYAM‑JK‑21‑0078157), based in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India, and serving customers in multiple countries.
2. Our privacy approach
We design our website and products to collect no more personal data than is reasonably needed for the relevant purpose. Many ArkenApps products are local-first: where software operates on a customer-controlled computer or environment, ordinary files and operational records remain under the customer's control and are not transmitted to ArkenApps merely because the software is used.
3. Personal data we may collect
- Contact information, such as name, business name, email address, telephone number, country or region, and the content of an enquiry.
- Order and licensing information, such as product purchased, edition, order reference, payment status, billing country, tax or business information where relevant, licence key status, activation count, and support entitlement.
- Licence activation information for products that use online validation, which may include a device-generated or installation identifier, licence instance identifier, product version, activation/deactivation event, and related technical information necessary to enforce the purchased licence.
- Support information you choose to provide, including screenshots, diagnostic logs, sample files, configuration details, and correspondence.
- Website and security logs, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, referring page, timestamp, and technical security information recorded by our hosting or infrastructure providers.
- Business records needed for contracts, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and dispute management.
4. Payment information
Where a purchase is processed through Lemon Squeezy, Lemon Squeezy acts as Merchant of Record and processes the checkout, payment, tax, receipt or invoice, and related transaction functions under its own terms and privacy practices. ArkenApps does not need or intend to store full payment-card numbers. We may receive order, customer, tax, payment-status, refund, chargeback, and licence information needed to fulfil the transaction and support the customer.
5. How we use personal data
- to respond to enquiries and provide requested information;
- to create, fulfil, verify, administer, and support software licences and orders;
- to provide technical support and investigate defects, misuse, fraud, or security issues;
- to operate, secure, maintain, and improve our website and products;
- to keep accounting, tax, contractual, licensing, and compliance records;
- to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights and resolve disputes; and
- to send product or business communications where you have requested them or where otherwise permitted by applicable law.
6. Legal grounds
Depending on the law that applies, we process personal data because it is necessary to take steps at your request or perform a contract, comply with a legal obligation, pursue legitimate business interests that are not overridden by your rights, protect systems and users, or because you have given consent. Where Indian data protection law applies, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and rules thereunder to the extent in force and applicable, we process personal data in accordance with the lawful grounds and notices required by that framework.
7. Customer-controlled files and extracted data
Some ArkenApps tools search, index, analyse, extract, organise, or export information from files selected by the user. Unless the product expressly provides a hosted feature, this processing is designed to occur in the user's or customer's environment. ArkenApps does not claim ownership of the contents of those files or of lawful outputs generated from them.
The user or customer is responsible for deciding what files may lawfully be processed and for complying with privacy, confidentiality, employment, intellectual-property, records-management, and other obligations applicable to those files and outputs.
8. Cookies and analytics
Our current website is designed without behavioural advertising pixels or cross-site advertising trackers. Essential storage or technical cookies may be used where needed for security, forms, checkout, or site operation. If we introduce optional analytics or marketing technology in the future, this Policy and any required consent controls will be updated before or when such use begins.
9. Service providers
We may use service providers for website hosting, forms, email, cloud infrastructure, software distribution, licensing, payments, accounting, banking, security, and support. Providers receive only the information reasonably required for their role and process information under their own legal obligations and/or contractual terms.
10. International transfers
ArkenApps is based in India and may work with customers and service providers in other countries. Personal data may therefore be processed in India and in other jurisdictions. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will use reasonable contractual, organisational, or technical measures appropriate to the transfer.
11. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate legal, tax, accounting, contractual, licensing, security, backup, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution requirements. Retention periods vary by record type. We may retain minimal order and licence records after support ends where reasonably necessary to prove a licence, honour a legitimate reinstall, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data and the scale of our operations. No internet, email, storage, or software system can be guaranteed completely secure. Customers should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive data through ordinary email and should maintain their own endpoint, access-control, and backup protections.
13. Your rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal data; to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; to object to or restrict certain processing; to nominate or authorise another person where applicable; and to lodge a grievance or complaint with a competent authority. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions and record-retention duties.
To make a privacy request, contact arkenapps@outlook.com. We may need to verify your identity and the request before acting on it.
14. Children
ArkenApps products and this website are intended for adults, businesses, and professional users. We do not knowingly solicit personal data from children for independent use of our commercial software. If a product is used by an organisation in a context involving children, that organisation is responsible for the lawful basis, notices, permissions, supervision, and safeguards required for that use.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our products, providers, business practices, or legal obligations. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on the published page and, where required, notified through an appropriate channel.
